It’s safe to say a good chick flick is a winning ingredient for a great girl’s night in! However, with the never ending choice of films at our disposal we often find ourselves asking the inevitable question, what film should I watch? In this post I have focused my attention to 90’s chick flicks, as their subtle charm and often endearing characters are a winning combination in my books!
Synopsis: Nothing quite screams 90’s chick flick like Clueless. Clueless revolves around Cher, a wealthy high school student in Beverly Hills who initially appears superficial. Cher and her best friend Dionne, decide to give “tragically unhip” new girl Tai Frasier a makeover. In the process Cher realises she needs a spiritual makeover & discovers their is more to life than clothes & makeup.

10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU
Synopsis: When the new kid at Padua High, Cameron James spots Bianca Stratford, a popular & beautiful student he is smitten. However, James quickly learns that Bianca isn’t allowed to date until her outcast sister Kat does. Upon learning this news he devises a plan to get Kat a date which ultimately results in an unlikely relationship. This film is based off Shakespeare’s ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ and it’s not short of a great plot and loveable characters!
Best quote: “I guess in this society, being male and an asshole makes you worthy of our time”- Kat Stratford
THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY
Synopsis: Nerdy high school student Ted is asked to prom by Mary but an embarrassing situation prevents him from attending. 13 years later Ted hires a private investigator to find Mary as he is still enamoured with his ‘crush’. With constant moments of hilarity this films has the perfect feel good factor which could rival any classic chick flick!
